Papers largely concern the Ramapo Iron Works owned by Jeremiah H. Pierson and include stock receipts, shipping receipts, accounts, and land papers, 1798-1909; letters received concerning shipping lumber and purchasing goods, 1811; letter from Eleazar Lord concerning railroad affairs, 1840; and Pierson's letters to Robert Morris concerning land in the Spencer-Muller Patent that he wanted for the Iron Works, 1807-1808. Other items include school tax roll from District No. 2, Town of Ramapo, 1862, and other miscellaneous school records, 1862-1892.
